Nihilism, hope, celebration, and sadness. The beautiful subject embracing such unlikely words has always been around us. “Flower and I” explores flowers as a medium to reflect human life and emotions. It aims to show how the same medium changes in meaning depending on people's experiences and values, and it draws attention to the meaning and symbolism of the flowers in each piece, and captures the values that the artist holds.
Since the days when art was not yet considered art, flowers have been used to express human emotions, and this use lightly touches upon the realm of contemporary art. Despite their long history, flowers still continue to inspire a surprisingly wide range of interpretations from artists. However, the artist's intention is not always directly conveyed; even the same flower in the same piece of artwork is constantly changing as it is interpreted by different people's eyes and thoughts. During the exhibition, we invite audiences to discover their own flower through the diverse interpretations presented by the artists.
